Exploring the Challenges Faced by the Urban Squatter Dwellers in Sentul, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Malaysia has experienced rapid urbanization, leading to congestion and a shortage of adequate housing. For those who cannot afford housing due the high prices houses, such as marginalized low-income groups, squatting becomes an alternative for viable solutions. Many have moved into urban squatter zones in search alternate Drawing on case study, this study explores challenges dwellers face how it affects their well-being. This used Participatory Action Research (PAR) Delphi Techniques conduct in-depth interviews with fourteen key informants Kuala Lumpur. It analyzed results using thematic analysis method. Findings revealed that they faced associated social issues, quality, environment, finances. These affected safety, comfort, relationships, health. is suggested government should adequately design inclusive policies programs resolve predicament enhance these dwellers’ quality life. Since studies squatters are scarce, provides insight country’s poverty problem. Furthermore, findings can be applied other developing countries characteristics like Malaysia.
